1. Choose Content for Feed

• You may find that your feed is the complete story and not a synopsis and not link to anything at all
• Any list orientated content on a site is which users may want to track or keep up-to-date with is a great candidate for a feed. 
  •   Examples:
    • Photos of events
    • Videos of speakers/events
    • news/announcements
    • list of updated or changed links/items
    • calendars or job postings

2. Create a basic xml file

• Code it
  • Basic feed vs more advanced feed
  • Encoding (with & without CDATA)
  • Namespaces
• Use a wizard. (RSS Builder) (Use the .xml extension for wider acceptance)
  
  • Generated with RSS Builder
• Generate feed using a script (i.e., PHP)

3. Upload & Validate

4. Test

• Test with IE7 & Firefox
• Test with Google Reader & Bloglines
  
  

5. Link To Feed

      Place the button on the page(s) where and link to your feed.

• Or you can create your own!
